The riding
The same wind machine as Jericoacoara — the village is about 12 km away — but with a wide, open beach and a fraction of the traffic. That is why most kite-focused schools and hotels settled here rather than in the village.
The beach changes character with the tide. At low tide, strips of shallow, flat water form along the sand, ideal for lessons and for drilling tricks. At high tide the chop builds and the riding gets livelier.
Getting there
Jericoacoara airport (JJD) is about 20 km away, roughly 30 minutes. It is the quickest access in the whole region, and unlike Jeri you can drive an ordinary car to your door.

Worth knowing

Accommodation tends to cost less than Jeri for a comparable standard.
Frequently asked
Should I stay in Preá or Jericoacoara?
If kiting is the priority, Preá usually wins: wider beach, fewer people on the water, easier access and lodging built around riders. Jeri wins on restaurants and nightlife — and it is only minutes away.
